Laurin Maritime recruits young ambitious cadets and officers from the nautical schools in Sweden and on the Philippines and encourages them to widen their knowledge through providing systematic training. Promising candidates aiming for senior officer positions are supported in their studies and teamed up with experienced senior officers to provide a stable team onboard. Laurin Maritime offers the possibility to rotate between its ships in order to enhance experience and knowledge of the officers and crew. The bulk of Laurin Maritime's senior officers are Swedish while Filipino junior officers and ratings constitute the majority of the balance of the crews. The Company also recruits junior officers and ratings from Eastern Europe and Mexico. Laurin Maritime strives to provide its crew and staff with a stimulating and rewarding work environment. Laurin Maritime provides a well planned relief system and gives many incentives to stay with the ship or the company. The Company is continuously working on ways to enhance life onboard and is proud to see many of its officers staying for 10-20 years. Many Filipino crewmembers have developed their careers extensively within the Company and have reached top positions such as Chief Officer, First Engineer, Master and Chief Engineer. Laurin Maritime delegates the actual management of the respective ship to its Masters and Chief Engineers, the Shipboard Management Teams.
